A vegan twist on the classic Hawaiian comfort food featuring a savory mushroom-based burger topped with rich gravy and a side of rice.
Method
Tested in our kitchen
Cook rice according to package instructions.
In a skillet, cook vegan burger patties according to package instructions. Set aside.
In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté mushrooms until soft.
Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually stir in vegetable broth and soy sauce, and simmer until thickened.
Season gravy with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
