Method

Cut tofu into cubes and pat dry.
Dust tofu cubes lightly with cornstarch.
Heat oil and fry tofu until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Combine vegan dashi, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer.
